Trinidad and Tobago, Caribbean Island State.
This twin island nation in the west indies is home of carnival, calypso, soca, steel pan and unspoiled nature, rainforests, swamps and marshes, coral reefs and tropical beaches. Trinidad covers less than 5000 square km, Tobago just 300, and is one of the richest destinations in the region for eco-tourism, wetlands and the coast, harbouring exotic wildlife like tropic bird, macaw, pelicans and the national bird, scarlet ibis. Over 425 species of birds have been recorded, a caribbean birders paradise. Five species of sea turtles lay there eggs on local beaches, also the largest of them, the giant leatherback turtle.
